Sonic 15th4 - Development Hell

Okay, so as many of you may or may not know, Sonic 15th 4 is in a bit of a pickle with development, it's been in blue hell for a good few years now. I was able to save the data I lost when my laptop died.
I'm now working with a PC that has specs that compare to the next gen of home consoles, so Flash lag isn't a problem anymore, the main problems I have now are:
1- Motivation: I really want to finish Sonic 15th 4Real, and I really want to continue animating, but with sites like Dorkly and Machinma taking most of the focus of sprited animations, I don't know if I should bother?

2- Time & Money: Making sprite animations may seem simple and lazy, but to do a good job of it, it takes hours a day (I spent 6 hours straight just to make 1 short skit for sonic 15th 3) and with real life breathing down my neck with full time work and bills to pay, it's hard to say "screw work, I'm gunna animate instead" without expecting a repo man at my door.

3- Experience: This is probably the easiest problem to solve, it's been a long time since I made anything, and obviously, I've gotten very rusty, but I have been working on a simple fight animation to get my experience back to scratch.

I honestly don't know what to do, I still get tons of messages asking for more, but how do I find the motivation, time, money and experience? I really don't know...

why is sonic it called sonic 15th 4 real?

RicStrife responds:

Well, when I made the first part, it was for the 15th Anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, so 15 stuck to it (shows long long it's been too)
As for the 4Real, its because I put up an april fools joke which I pretended to be part 4, so 4real will be for real.

I know how you feel. I'm having a hard time getting back into my passion for digital painting, and I haven't had any real inspiration for more than 8 months. My skills have gotten rusty, and I can barely draw anything now.

Take your time and do your best. Take a break from the project and come back to it when you feel you've regain motivation, don't force it.
